A Debt

A Debt

A Poem by P. Kapper

Your kiss

It touched more

More than my lips

Much much more

It touched my heart

It touched my soul

It flowed through my veins

From the bottom of my feet

To the top of my head

It filled me with warmth

In this subhuman Arctic cold

It filled me with ecstasy

Filled me with desire

Alas

It filled me with anger

It filled me with dread

For there is someone

Someone else

Someone who’s benefitting

He’s the one

Who captures your heart

Captures your soul

Fills you with desire

Fills you with ecstasy

So you loan out your mouth

Loan out your tongue

My heart is collateral

For a debt I can’t pay

So once again I’m filled

And once again

Again you repossess

You take my heart

And I’ve paid my debt

And now I am empty

And he has it all

And now you do as well

For I have given my all

My heart and my soul

And all I have left

Are these scattered musings

And ramblings and rants

And you celebrate your successes

Which coincide with my failures

And leave me incomplete
