Days

Days

A Poem by Dawn

The day draws near and “Yes” I fear, for my world grows even darker.
There are times I think of you all day, and some times I don’t.
If only things were different,
If only I could have saved you.

It must have meant to happen,
It made me who I am, although full of weakness, I am strong in some ways too.

You taught me love was forever, but you weren’t here to stay.
I wonder are you watching over, if so are you jealous, for now my life goes on and you're so far away.
Don’t I say be jealous, you still hold a special place. You’re always in my thoughts.
Never forgotten, and never far away.

I'm guessing this guy died, and I think its really sweet for you to write a poem about him. What is interesting, is that he died nine days exactly after I was born. I guess with new life, death comes knocking at your door. I really liked the overall poem though. At first, I thought that you were talking about someone that you recently broke up with, and wanted to get back together with, but you cleared everything up at the end. Great job, and welcome to writer's cafe=]
