In Vein

In Vein

A Poem by Terry Kant
"

A Lament. Bah! Love, sometimes there's nothing one can do but do without it.

"
So Love's lead us to loss
So our compass pointed us
Sticking to the tracks
In each others arms
We've gone too far to go back
The blood trail's warm
Too far gone to get back
Yet there's no moving on

I'll fall asleep and dream long
Have a piece of my hole
I'll live in exile if you want
You can live in my home

Because you're far, you're far
from siding yes or no
And every hour you are,
you come closer to know
A daughter-ruined son
put outside a door
beyond a fence in the yard
Where you're a ghost in the dark.

Sink in your teeth and leech
for as long as you need
Once I'm empty, what to do with me?
Needless if stayed
Unless you throw me away...
So it was all in vein.
