Pain

Pain

A Poem by kamikazebuterfli

Life is filled with nothing but heartache and regret.

You try to take a different course, but your path is set.

Sometimes I find it hard to breath, trying not scream.

Praying that I will wake up from the agony of this dream.

I have no illusions; I'm as guilty as the rest.

But, do not judge too harshly,

my heart has just been cut, beating, from my chest.

Was the heart meant to take so much agony?

How can it bear such pain?

Why doesn't blood freeze solid in the veins?

Is love an illusion? Is life just a game?

When you are dead and gone, who will

Remember your name?

Is life really only a pre-set path of pain? Or just a game? I wonder!!
A powerful and thought provoking write. The flow was good.
"When you are dead and gone, who will-Remember your name?" Not many ask this question, or at least in my opinion, not enough.

A powerful poem! My favorite lines:

I have no illusions; I'm as guilty as the rest.

my heart has just been cut, beating, from my chest.

Why doesn't blood freeze solid in the veins?

When you are dead and gone, who will

Remember your name?

Your a poet unafraid to put your words down as your heart dictates them! Brava!

Life's cruelty is being reflected in your poem, in the presentation of the incertitudes that haunt a vigorous mind.

The pain is palpable trough the many speech flowers.
