"Just Care"

"Just Care"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage

We feel lost in a world,
that screams we are imperfect;
tells us, yet, that we belong.

Do we?

Do we belong in that society,
the ignorance is bliss,
the wealthy are truly happy,
and true love never prevails?

When will we put down these books of ruling?
Look authority in the face and say, "No more."
No more can they corrupt our minds.
Fill them with lies of negativity.

When will people begin to burn their maps,
and simply walk amongst the beauty of nature?
Drink it in as it speaks to us;
the only pure things left on this planet comes in times of solitude.

Solitude keeps us alive,
it allows us to pick apart the truth,
leaving the carcass of lies on the road.

So ask one more time.

Do we belong in this world already created?
Or is it time to create a world,
a world that we can all be distinguished,
as individuals,
as people,
as humans.

As creatures capable of feeling love,
compassion,
and a connection with each morsel living on this Earth.

It's time to care...
