"Fired"

"Fired"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage
"

.

"
The walls around me slowly breathe.
I feel them pulsate with my heart.

Faster
And faster
And faster.

An inescapable drainage of my will to live.
Colors blend together,
Becoming the disgusting black that I have envied.
The miserable feeling caves my chest in.
The light bulbs burst igniting a quickly absorbing fire.

I lie,
Motionless.
Unable to open my clenched jaw,
And make a pathetic cry for my savior.
No lights from above.
No horns were blaring.
Only the constant cry of a mother,
As the world around her son blazes.

Rage.
Fear.
Love.
Hate.

Emotions become meaningless in our last seconds of life.
Leave with a word of prayer.

"Dear god,
Do not even think of touching me with your defiled hands. The scum on your shoe has gained my respect. You have failed me, my family, and the world around you. You scoffed as we went down with a desperate cry to nobody.

This is my only and last message to you. You are fired."
