"The Songbird Sang"

"The Songbird Sang"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage
"

.

"

Did you hear the tune,

that the songbird sang?

"Come forth with yours blades,

hold them to be sharpened."

The songbird sang,

for the world to hear.

"Come forth with yours blades,

hold them to be sharpened."

So we walked like puppets,

holding outward our weapons.

"Come forth with yours blades,

hold them to be sharpened."

Our swords were sharpened;

Yet, with no purpose perceived.

"Come forth with yours blades,

hold them to be sharpened."

Is there a reason,

for this battle we've been fighting?

"Come forth with yours blades,

hold them to be sharpened."

No more will we fight,

the songbird has been silenced.

"Enough of your song,

learn to sing another tune."
