"In Love With an Addict"A Poem by Kameron Armitageit's getting so much better
Her tears fall on my lap.
My eyes blink when hers are dry. My heart beats fast when she gets scared. I cry when she feels pain. I feel the sting of this drug in the pit of my stomach, She feels the high. The tears fall each night as my soul falls apart. Knowing each moment, of each day, of each week she is afraid to stop. All I want is the amazing girl I fell in love with back in my arms. But the drugs pull back, Insisting she stays. "Please come back to me; rest in my arms again." In the distance I see her figure, The only problem is that I cannot tell if she is walking toward me, Or away from me. © 2010 Kameron Armitage |
