"Our Sandbox"A Poem by Kameron Armitagejust how our society is not the successful, unified group it used to be and that we need to take steps to rebuild the happiness and unity which can be done starting with optimism.Fire burns around,
swallowing the innocent, eating the poor, devouring the brave. As each day carries on, the loved are no longer cherished, the living die, and the courageous give up. Heros that once were, now sit on the road, begging for spare change, to fill their empty rib cage. Hot summers bring cold truths, cold winters burn minds, society has turned its shoulder, to any competitors near. All for one? One for all? one for one slowly takes control, leaving all in the plague before them; Hunger. Greed. Infestation of ignorance. Hands have been torn apart, soothing fires extinguished, love diminished, families gone. The life of this country has fallen, before our eyes; day by day, and has become a useless, washed out sandbox, simply sitting without life, happiness, or joy; until the individuals around, take it upon themselves to refill it with sand, even if it is one... grain.... at a time..... © 2010 Kameron ArmitageAuthor's Note
