"The World Before Us"A Poem by Kameron Armitageehh...
Silent hands reach out in the dead of night,
screaming words of praise. Deadening eyes awake from their slumbers, becoming aware of the forsaken world around. Shooting stars paint the blank paper in the sky, displaying a portrait of life and death. Sweet aromas sweep through the air, Comforting those disturbed souls or the nation. Love is walking the alleys of each innocent mind, waiting for the long awaited prey. The doors slowly open on each end of Earth, shedding slivers of warming light to the deserved. Dusty books are dusted off and forced open, words are deliberately explored. Blankets enrapture desperate minds, sending tranquility shooting down their spines. Lifeless plants lie on the outskirts, unable to lift from this curse. Children laughing echos in mother's ears, continuing their play; sleep is put on hold. The minute hand moves faster each day, counting down the life of this world. Some choose to count the revolutions, others choose to embrace them and the time given. Lives are being lived, others thrown away. Utilize your time, and step outside. © 2010 Kameron ArmitageAuthor's Note
