"In Black and White"

"In Black and White"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage

Take those books or your lives and throw them into the fire of truth;

plans always fail.

Dry those tears and prepare yourself for more;

they always come.

Look into the mirror and know that it's not you;

we cannot find ourselves alone.

Tell that person that you love them and always will;

the time will soon pass.

Look truth in the face and accept it;

not everybody can win.

Fall to your knees and scream your final cry;

we all fall inevitably.

Scrape your knees and throw dirt in your face;

we all get dirty.

Hang up the phone and go to sleep;

The conversation must end.

Cut the ropes and let them go;

grudges simply weigh us down.

Find the one you love and hold them tight;

love keeps us moving.

Learn not to live life, but to embrace it;

in the end, that is all that will matter.
