"Memories Not Obtained"

"Memories Not Obtained"

A Poem by Kameron Armitage

Sitting in this class,

I wonder...

What is it like?

To die.

To feel your life drain from your body.

Dwindle until it no longer exists.

Heart collapse, feet go numb and cold.

Will the pain intensify as my screams grow louder,

or will I simply stop living?

I wonder...

What it would be like,

to hold her close.

Feel her in my arms.

To know that I never have to search again,

that I have found the woman,

the woman for me.

I wonder...

If the bird in the sky

watches.

Looks down on our world of chaos.

While flying above,

waiting.

Waiting for its chance to swoop down,

and rescue the dying.

These things I wonder...

They have been embedded in my mind,

sealed,

until the day that all questions are

resolved,

and

peace is given,

Forever.

such a softly patternd write. it feels as dreamy as daydreams often are.. i love the range of subjects in which you wonder, yet each with an underlying theme.. my brain often skips from subject to subject rather quickly, so it's a device i can relate to *smiles*

wonderful ending as well..
