Young and CarefreeA Poem by Kamal AwadhA poem about being an adolescent that never wanted to grow up and realising you are already a grown up now you have to be a man.I’m 22. That’s 22 years on this earth. I read about 14 year olds going to war. I still put on my Bart Simpson pajamas
before bed. I’m still staying at my parent’s house. No license, no bank account, no job I got a girl
that wants me and I want her too But how can there be 14-year-old kids more
man than me I don’t deserve her. Now I don’t even know what to write under
the title The man I want to be How can I accept that adolescence is my
curse? I’m stuck here Exactly where I wanted to be A kid forever Never to be free © 2015 Kamal AwadhAuthor's Note
