Open Like a FlowerA Poem by Clara Kevie
I'm open like a flower
I'm new to this world. I see with my eyes A blank canvas to cover. My petals unfurl To say my goodbyes . Pushing through and out of the dirt Was a difficult task for me. Couldn't believe what I would learn, Coming out, what It could mean. I felt so much stress and hurt, Had no clue what I could see. I'm open like a flower I'm new to this world. I see with my eyes A blank canvas to cover. My petals unfurl To say my goodbyes. Now with my head above the ground, I feel the open space there is. Wind engulfs me all around. Underground, I do not miss. A little bud I have found Will yawn soon with genteelness. I'm open like a flower I'm new to this world. I see with my eyes A blank canvas to cover. My petals unfurl To say my goodbyes. All my petals have now opened. I taste and enjoy the sunlight. I no longer have to pretend or try with all of my might Because I have reached the end. I receive and see the light. There's nowhere left for me to go... That is, unless I fall apart, Make way for another to start low... Suppose I must play my part. All my petals fall below, Decompose as new life starts. I'm new to this world. I see with my eyes A blank canvas to cover. My petals unfurl To say my goodbyes.
