What Is To Be Happy

What Is To Be Happy

A Poem by Clara Kevie

What is to be happy?
It is to be with friends
To be with all my friends around
And not worry about my ends

What is to be happy
Is to be by your side
To hold you and be held by you
To know I'm safe and can confide

Flowers, smiles, colors, flair, pants
All of these artificial things
I could live in an abundance
And still not ever see my wings
But when I'm near you I can dance
With your help, we can all be kings!

What is to be happy?
It is to be with you
To be with all my friends around
And to not have any more feuds

What is to be happy
Is to be by your side
To hold you and be held by you
While arm in arm we run and hide

Regret, anger, spiting, loss, pain
All of this superficial lie
I could live on forever sane
But I'd never see myself fly
When friends can't trust, there can't be gain
For those who lust, they break the tie.
