A Friend

I’m not sure how to tell you who i am

While making sense you can understand

I'm a girl of many colors

A girl, who doesn’t want people to get closer

If I only knew

What words I should choose

Maybe you’d know who I am

Maybe you’d think I could never be a friend

~

I am a girl of many sides

Yet so few I’ve learned not to hide

I’m not always people material

Some think, I can only be miserable

~

But I’ve learned life isn’t a fun game

Some days I just want to give in because I’m going insane

Then I met someone who says that doesn’t have to be true

That person, you know, their someone like you

~

You never lie, you’d never cheat

You’ve been used so many times by those who only sneak

So if you want to know who I am

I better put this in words you can comprehend

~

I’m not Dr.Doom, Joker, or Godzilla,

I’m not a people person, but I’d never kill ya

If you can understand this chaos

Let me know, to stay or get lost

Such meaningful lines! This is honestly a very relatable poem, and I find it hard not to picture my life in front of me. I think I am more or less the same here... I want people to know the full me, who I really am, instead of what I show to them. We don't choose to not show ourselves to people; it's what they do to us, cripple us, and tear us from the inside...
It has amazing sentence structure and is a wonderful piece!
