Confusions of a sane mind
A Poem by
Kendrick B. A.
Confusion of a Sane Mind
She was nothing to me a year ago
but that changed ever so slow
she came in being so perfect to me
changing my world indefintly
I tried to stay sane
while I lived through this pain
looking at her throw the window pane
hoping she looks my way (but it never worked)
She changed my world ever so slow
making me believe I should go
and do something with my life
making me wanna pick up that knife
I tried to stay sane
as I was put throught this pain
others were watching me change
wondering if I was going insane
Confusions of a sane mind
these things change the world everytime
Confusions of a sane mind
when the world knows they are not mine
I wonder if I will ever change
as I walk down memory lane
thinking of the times we talked
of the places we walked together
Confusions of a sane mind
making me go insane
Confusions of a sane mind
are these thoughts still mine

I think this poem has the feel of a Bob Dylan song, or of other classic balladeers. I really love these lines:-
"Confusions of a sane mind
these things change the world everytime
Confusions of a sane mind
when the world knows they are not mine "
I like the feeling from this that thoughts come from the outside, though perhaps it's just the `things' that are referred.
Very fascinating, melodic writing!

I agree that this has a kind of Bob Dylan "tinge" to it, I guess, but whether or not it's better than Dylan's work is up to the individual reader. I for one believe Dylan is best songwriter of the 20th century.
There have been many times in my life when I wanted a girl I knew I could not have. I admit, some were celebrities, but when I find out they're with someone, it doesn't affect me much. But when I like someone I actually have a shot with and find out she's with some buffoon, it hurts.

"She changed my world ever so slow" meaning full things often happen in slow degrees
never more true than when stimulated by others,
Welcome onboard and i hope to read more of your work
