brooklyn beauty

freeze frame.
riverfront jump for euphoria
we’re on the brooklyn bridge baby!
you don’t get to feel sadness
history happens RIGHT HERE
right now
in whirlwind chopped up salad
diversity ready to BLOW away on a cold front
this city doesn’t sleep, don’t blink!
dead bodies in THE brooklyn bridge bricks
have you ever jumped off a bridge?
neck tie suicide from hum drum office work
might push you off the edge
this city KILLS PEOPLE
but isn’t the river beautiful?

I loved this poem. Real city and real situation. Best kind of poetry.
"neck tie suicide from hum drum office work

The above lines. Perfect.
Thank you Kallie for sharing your excellent poetry.

This poem beautifully captures the essence of both our hometowns.
I love this! How raw and vividly these lines sit on the mind.
A snapshot of a few seconds worth of life in good ol' NYC; which might equal a years' worth of time anywhere else.
Great job!
