If Only You Knew

If Only You Knew

A Poem by ~Kali~
"

This poem is for the people who think mental illness is us being over-dramatic or "just sad". I hope they will soon realize that it is a suffocating struggle and is very, very real.

"
If only you knew
Who I am inside
If you could hear
What's in my mind

What would you do?
I'm not for sure
Maybe you'd try
To find a cure

For this constant sadness
I seem to have
Or maybe you'd sit back
And merely laugh

"Are you for real?
This girl's a fake!
You'll be happy tomorrow
Just you wait."

I'm never taken seriously
Why does no one believe me?
I'm constantly depressed
Why can't you see?

There'd be no point in pretending
You know it's true
So why do you think
It's something I do?

Some people think
Depression's a cool trend
It's not so cool
When you want your life to end...

Woah nice. of course depression comes in all ages but teens do have it rough i'll give you that but I feel happy thinking that you write your feelings out I am the same on that part. Therefore I can feel that poetry means a lot to you. And don't be depressed there will be people who will understand, you just don't know it. Keep up the good work ;)

thank you! :)
The title made me curious, but after reading the reason of why you wrote this, I decided to give it a read through & I can relate to every line. I loathe those who think mental illness is just a 'joke', when there's nothing to joke about. I have a mental illness, plus anxiety & it's definitely not been an easy road. It sucks having to deal with such a racing mind & constant fears of failing everyday, but I appreciate you writing to bring such awareness to the subject. I'm so relieved to find that someone can relate to such hurt. I'm sorry to hear if you go through such mental hurt, but it's just something you have to work through with each passing day. I'm always here to talk if ever you need someone who is able to understand or to just hear a story & thanks again for the most honest write that I have had the privilege to read in awhile. Keep up the good talent, there's no way to fail when it comes to writing.
