If I Were Brave

If I Were Brave

A Poem by ~Kali~
"

Some of the things I would do/have done if I were a brave soul.

"
Being brave is something
That people think is good
But I can't say I'm one of them...

If I were brave, I would take risks
Some that could even cost my life
Luckily, I'm not
Because it's damn expensive

If I were brave, I would run away
Run until my vision is blurry
Luckily, I'm not
Because I would have no place to go

If I were brave, I would scar myself
Until red was all I could see
Luckily, I'm not
Because my skin is already bad enough

If I were brave, I would have told my friends goodbye
For today is the day of my death
Luckily, I'm not
Because I still have a life to live

If I were brave, I would already be dead
I would be a pretty angel
Luckily, I'm not
Because I'm just not ready to go home yet

Thought provoking, we all think of this at some stage in our life no matter how strong we are... There is a lovely balance of two types of thoughts in the which compliments the whole poem... It's a lovely work... Bravery does not mean don't fear, it simply means we are still moving in spite of having fear....

Sincerely,
Dhiman

You clarified the narrow line between bravery and being mad(doing something foolish then) very well. It's a very good piece of writing.

Bravery can mean running away, or standing still; swinging back harder or just rolling with the punches. An easy, gently-flowing read, set at a comfortable pace - which sits at odds with the theme of the writing itself, but that's not a bad thing. Keep writing, Kali! :)
