Sometimes you cannot take medicine, for your cure may be a wild dose of venom.
Arms of nurture and eyes with light; gracious beauty I cannot smite, your heart is forgiving with intentions that are innocent and pure, but your tongue is a weapon, wiggling and acting so cruel. Hush, ginger blade. Do not cut down the ones who adore. I want to caress the violent flesh that vines away the cages of your teeth and swallow the vinegar that floods your cheeks. I beg for permission to devour the venom that rots your veins which remains hidden beneath the serrated blade. Your ardent heart, vigorously pounding in the miniature caverns of your cracked lips will be conquered by the pressure of you between the warmth of my hips. The lingering taste of cigarettes stuck in the gaps of your teeth as your smoke is filling my lungs. Please, keep suffocating me.Sweat and cheap cologne; your toxic concoction makes me shiver and groan, questioning if my dedicating admiration is nothing more than bitter jealousy and unnerving obsession. Locked away is a jungle with an uneven, jagged terrain with an unsatisfied, ravenous beast. Bite me. Infect me with the parasite within your core. I implore! Please, give me more. Drown me in your saliva and puncture my flesh with your fangs; break me apart-- piece by piece then pry from my trembling hands and wither away from my longing embrace.
Your rhyming is pretty good, actually . . . but becuz of the way this is formatted as prose, the rhymes are not that noticeable, unless I pay attention on purpose. Anyhow your manner of writing with intensity & addressing the attractiveness of "poison" is very inspiring to me. I usually write pretty upbeat stuff, but there is also a huge reservoir of ugly poison in my life experience. I hope to someday be able to let that part out, too. That's why this piece is inspiring to me, to get up the courage to admit how sometimes the things we know are bad for us are actually quite alluring & irresistible. This is an aspect of human nature rarely written about & you've really done a great job of it. I like your surprising expressions that come from a deep level of originality, as far as describing & comparing, using unusual words & ideas.
Your rhymes are subtle and beautiful, and the tone of this piece is absolutely enthralling. The wording superb, and the format is absolutely as it should be for this type of poem. Self deprecation does not become you. Embrace your own form and go with it, it is beautiful. Form and flowery words aside, the message is true. We love what we shouldn't, and pay the price.
Hi Kale
Firstly I enjoyed your style of writing I found it alluring to say the least. I also thought the way you wrote the poem was unique. I admire snakes but personally tend to avoid them :) Somethings that are not good for us can be so darn attractive to the point of our self destruction. The about you section I found rather amusing; If you churn out interesting writing you will not be ignored. Keep up the good work.
The poetry is amazing.
"Bite me. Infect me with the parasite within your core. I implore! Please, give me more. "
Need take over wisdom. Hunger take over common sense. I liked the above lines. Temptation, fantasy and wild place steal our mind and soul. Thank you Kale for sharing the excellent poetry.
