Rainbow Smiles....

Rainbow Smiles....

A Poem by Kajal Gulabani

Her wondrous gaze skipped his beat,
A glance no gesture can defeat.
Her wet tresses bathed in rains of love,
Such showers no bravery can shove.

The ecstatic clasp of her hand,
Sobbing in agony and despair.
Yearns for every drip of life,
Alas! She lays prostrate as his pride.

Pitiful tears streaming in woe,
Bidding her skin in the dark burrow,
But souls shall see endless climes,
No matter if the rain subsides,
Hues of love 'as a rainbow' will smile.....

Such a dark poem for a title that was meant to express a rather happy thought. From the title to the poem was a gigantic twist in itself, which made this poem quite fascinating to read. The darkness and seriousness of the topic was conveyed quite perfect, as well. Brilliant poem.
