Dawn or Dusk

Dawn or Dusk

A Story by Kajal Gulabani

“Nature bloomed in bliss, Youth swamped in love, Spirituality appalled in the pool of merriment!! Humanity drifted from its pseudo cognition and immersed in streams of sublime consciousness!!” That’s what I see beyond the unseen.

21st December’2012 has hit the most controversial mark on the calendar. Some part of globe is shrieking with fear whereas the rest, glorifying with a hope. A hope of “sublime humanity; amity and reconciliation”!!!

What is so significant about this date of the Mayan calendar??? Scrolling back volumes of history, Mayans predicted “a looonnng pause” striking its alarm on their gigantic clock, this very day. As perceivers, does this mean “decay and destruction” or “betterment and elevation”??? Disconcerting! Is it??

It has blown an air of thrill and suspense all over the world. Some anticipating it as an uninvited havoc and some summarizing into an ordinary day. Yes, a sheer normal day BUT with grave awareness.

Let us understand it this way: Information half assimilated is like a glass half filled with water, projecting two different dimensions. The vicious circle would have intensified its mystery if it wouldn't have been on astrologers and scientists. Cosmic study reveals the theory of “galactic alignment” promulgating the beginning of Bronze Age (also called Dwapar Yuga). Sun steps out of the Iron Age (also called Kali Yuga) and spreads its radiance on this heavenly day thus resulting into gradual inclination of mankind.

Astrologers convict the metamorphosis from banality to originality. Sun is supposed to leave the vicinity of “Pisces”, making its presence felt in “Aquarius”. To put it in simpler words, the dawn of 22nd December 2012 will be brighter and exhilarating. Peace will reside in every corner and love sprinkled all over the globe like a trillion stars beautifying the cosmos, BUT, gradually.

Wonderful it sounds, if it was a declared reality!!! Unfortunately, it has another noir face to it. A shadow is calling it out a Doom’s day. Camouflage is mounting itself every passing moment, creating a mound of frenzy. The control system forges an illusion within us shaping into an apocalypse. The media deliberately hypes off scale, blowing it out of proportion. Devastation, destruction, fear, dark forces, secrets unrevealed...So much more!! SUSPENSE..

The remarkable day is supposed to bring a shift in human consciousness. A huge transition from ‘vice to virtue’, ‘brutality to peace’ and ‘war to love’ is prophesied by all those erudite out there.

Wonderfully quoted by a famous comedian Bill Hicks: ‘World is an amusement park and we are riding the swings with shrills. The world has surely poured profuse techniques to distort our consciousness. Though we enjoy it momentarily, once out of it, we know the reality. Those who awaken the others, who’re still riding, generally get killed’. As a result, focused minds are threatened and wavered into dark burrows. What an era it has been!!! Mercy!!!

Earth and its miraculous cycle of seasons are accepted with delight, then why these raised eyebrows for Sun’s transition in the universe???

Santos Bonacci, a scientist and astrologer states a coherent view: We are the universe itself embodied with millions of atoms. When we understand that we are a microcosm of the macrocosm, then shall we understand the connection with God. “As above, so below”! What an era it would be!!! Awaited!!

Well, “Different people - Different views”, increasingly are progressing towards nothing but a rut. Instead of us going astray, let’s march to a new voyage of ‘Being human’ (at least hope to).

To sum it up, I am waiting for a blazing sunrise on 22nd December’2012 to make my coffee taste sweeter. Amen!

Nicely done. Is interesting and well weaved. I like the theory of consciousness slowly changing to a lighter state. The upbeat parts are cool. Nice pen upon this piece.

You're welcome. :)
I like the secular discussion. Every major sect of any religion worth it's salt produces similar cyclical "doom and renewal" innuendo, yet the author shows that we can all come together in our fascination with this one given the glaring lack of on-the-scene Mayans. Again, clever religious wording "Amen" without overt references.

On an off topic note, I'm fascinated with some wording although I can't introspectively figure out why. The author says "noir" rather than "black". At first it seems like a gratuitous use of higher order grammar, and yet it does produce a slightly different reading. Interesting. I learn something about me today, blessedly 3 days after the end of time.....

You explain this very well, and I will certainly be aware of Dec. 22nd this year.
