A Strange Journey

A Strange Journey

A Poem by Kaito Asuke
"

I needed to vent recently, so I did; this poem is more or less a mesh of my feelings at the present time.

"

the air is arid,

the sun looms with unmerciful countenance;

each step grows heavy

as each step fades against the wind.

the horizon stretches endlessly,

there are no beginnings and ends;

tis a journey of forever,

lost in a sea with no shore.

forgotten dreams and distant hopes

mark the paths ahead;

the shadows grow long in the twilight,

and still no end in sight.

the cool night replaces the cruel morrow,

another sea illuminates above,

wandering endlessly in a sea with no shore.

the air is arid,

but the nights bring chills with

each step grows heavy

as each step fades into the darkness.

the air is soft to the touch,

stroking across your cheek

and mockingly whisper sweet songs

as you lull between the dream and reality.

from the dark, renewed cruelty returns,

the journey continues;

there are no beginnings and ends,

only the dream of purpose and of an end.

each step grows heavy,

the steps slow in pace,

until even in the light

doth the shadows come

to relieve thee of your strange journey.

Author's Note

Kaito Asuke
if the flow seems off, well I was kinda stuck with nothing but a small sheet of paper and a pen while at work when I wrote this so there may be some issue with that.

About
Nothing more but a dire bard; one who's soul has been torn asunder by the atrocities of humanity. He writes the songs of the crying soul, and those who no longer see the light; in truth he is the embo.. more..
