Fallen [05-08-06]

A Poem by Kaito Asuke

Falling from my dreams
I awaken once more;
Drifting
In a sea of shadows.
Lost within,
Yet found within.
I stare at the black,
Memories fade,
Love withers,
And despair thickens;
Cold.
So cold, yet so warm.
Familiarity and obscurity
Consume my sight,
As I drift in this endless sea.

Time ebbs away here,
Just like me.
I have reached my limit,
I must go now,
And fade with the shadows,
The light no longer exists here,
Those dreams will forever remain
As they were, just dreams;
Nothing more,
Nothing less.
I’m tired now,
Let me rest,
Let me drift….

Oh I am such a fan of short sentences, the trick is you have to know how to use them which I personally think you did perfectly. Short but powerful, your words and imagery seemed to flow perfectly, almost giving your readers the feeling that they too are caught within this emotionless ocean.

Nice piece, I really enjoyed it
