A Million Pieces

A Million Pieces

A Poem by trying_to_write

i waited for you.
Like an idiot, i waited.
i walked the moon four times,
before i gave up.

Sitting alone in a crater,
my heart into shattered pieces,
you finally showed up.
i yelled and i screamed.
you did this to me!
i shouted,
pointing at the broken pieces
scattered on the ground.
But you just stood there,
calm.

You waited until i was finished,
then picked up every bit of my heart,
put it back together,
and gave it back.
Just like you’ve done,
every
other
time.

Someone who has the power to save you from yourself. But if those broken pieces need frequent repair then something isn't quite the ticket. Maybe the relationship won't work. Not sure if that was your intention, but that's what I picked up from your lines. Too many broken hearts in this world.sadly.
