Mr. Space ManA Poem by trying_to_writeBlast off in your rocket to the outskirts of the galaxy. Tell me what wonders you find and the horrors you discover. Did you find any life? One to replace mine? Maybe you have become a king of a newly found colony. Find the brightest of blue planets and the dullest of grays. Bring me a rock from each, so I can have my own piece of space. Wondering the time it will take you, I wait and I wait. But for what? You may decide to stay in space. Life out there must be much more thrilling, compared to the dull life you lead down here. “Please come back, Mr. Space Man.” Space may be your adventure, but you are mine. You get lost in the glimmer and gleam of the most brilliant stars, but I get lost in the deep ocean blue of your eyes. Gravity may pull you towards the earth, but gravity pulls me towards you. I want to join you out in there great beyond, but it is your dream, not mine. So I stay planted on land, where my feet are stuck. While you roam about the planets, hopping from one to the next. Have fun out there, Mr. Space Man. © 2019 trying_to_writeAuthor's Note
