Secluded ideas

A Poem by trying_to_write

They’re always there.

Just waiting to present themselves.

But they’re stubborn, constantly just out of reach

Like a child wanting the cookies on the top shelf.

A carefully placed chair, and a few stacked books,

but still, they can’t quite grasp them.

So they stand on their tiptoes,

and stretch their arms,

just to have their fingertips

graze the bottom of the package.

They nudge it,

until it comes tumbling down

off the shelf, into their hands.
