THIS TOO SHALL PASS

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

A Poem by Kanika
"

this is a poem which at the beginning makes us realise that how day by day covid is taking our loved ones from us and the situation is difficult to tackle but as the poem proceeds it gives us hope.

"

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

Each passing day I just wish my knowns to be fine

What about those who already died?

Nothing can be done right?

But did you ever stop to think they too had their knowns beside

Like every candle that lights the room

Their lives  shone bright with their presence and bloomed

Now they’re torn apart

Will their lives be the same bright?

Who will fill this cavity of misery?

Which force will bring them back?

While the inevitibility of death continues to mock at us

Nothing is gonna change

Just as the body is buried , bury the pain within you

Let hope overshadow the tears this time

Because the only thing that will keep them alive even when they’re buried

Will be the smiles of their knowns

The departed souls will only be at peace

If the people they loved are at peace

In these tough times where the road is only full of dust

And the only noise that can be heard is sorrowful cries

Wait for the time when this road meets another  one

Wait for the time when the birds sing  in their euphonious voices

Wait for the time when  a rainbow lights up the sky

Wait for the time when kids play on the streets

Its just a matter of time

In no time you’ll meet your friend

But this time you’d be able to hold them

There are still promises to make

Many places to explore

More memes to share

More moments to care

Much meals to order

More coke to spill

A smirk to pass

A rose to give

A joke to crack

And a life to live.
