Poem from Poetry Class Spring 2015 “The Rain Falls Saltily “A Poem by KatethepoetThis was a specific prompt actually. It was a bit random. It stylistically mirrors a poem I chose from a poetry book we were reading “The
Rain Falls Saltily “ The jelly filled rain pellets possess ears but don’t know the sun, each one is drop way more gooey
than the next. I converge along this jam, waiting with a heaving sigh, the sky painted like yellow honey, and stickiness
oozes like the small pour of blood, only clotted. You and me pull flowers on
full moons or dirt in the morning, uproot it so hard and the rain will begin to
dance. I won’t stop or pulling is of waste. Or I’ll envision a road believe it
leads somewhere, it leads somewhere, the somewhere of my choosing. Rain falls
like salt on fries. Heavy occasionally. I still walk through it. Oozing ,still its best function. Clotting
momentarily. Runoff like cleanliness .Eclipsing away the messy. Salt roads
savior. © 2015 Katethepoet |
