Hospital Chapel

Hospital Chapel

A Poem by Kaela Craven

Hospital chapel
Where the books give the undecided
A new decision to make.
The golden rule
Is the same in every religion
They explain on the wall
And I wonder which Messiah
Is listening today.
The atheist in the waiting room
Gets his tears out early
While the praying Christian
Like a mother wolf
Growling away doubt
Holds in the floods
That death
Will never let out.

Perhaps, that is why hope is a powerful bandage. . . And we each have to deal with pain in our own way - according to our strengths . . . nicely done!
