Whole AgainA Poem by Kaela CravenIt feels like a boardwalk in the summer After the sun has left you to your evening And given up his duty To the street lamps. Or when I went to San Francisco When I was eight And we tasted Ghirardelli And the breeze was sharper Than I expected But none of us stopped smiling. And here The palm trees look yellower to me, lighter, As they fan open the sky And the tips of their feather-leaves Kiss the sweet, sweet blue Like an old friend. Knowing now, my life will be whole again soon Like when I was eight years old And the world needed nothing. Only some chocolate And a smile.
