Sweet-Weather DaysA Poem by Kaela CravenI realize I've shut too many people out.
To hold you in the sweet-weather days Was a task I loved.
I ignored your humanity When it touched its ugliness, But it became too sour to swallow, So I gave you up.
But I too have monsters unleashed And never brought home. I too have devils never re-caged.
And I have grown And I have lost. Been in snow And sweltered in the heat.
I'm breaking my stone-carved rules. Forgiveness, too, can be sweet.
