She didn't wake up until he was there

She didn't wake up until he was there

A Poem by Kaela Craven

She didn't wake up until he was there.

She didn't know you could lay on the beach in the morning

Before breakfast

Before the paper

Before thinking about the world.

She didn't know that you could make love

And tell people to leave you alone

When they knocked at the door.

She didn't wake up until he came banging at her window

Stolen roses in his hand.

She didn't wake up until he came whistling along

Leaving footprints in the sand.
