Virginal

Virginal

A Poem by Kaela Craven

Is this the dark-split moment

on which to hurt you?

Is this the ugly cluster of seconds

To lay you across,

And touch you in ways

You never wanted to be touched?

Like a girl, unknowing

I am taking away your sweetness.

Like a victim, chastened

I am taking away your choice.

And I am bullying you with the unintentional blood

Of my indifference.
