Soldier for Sun

Soldier for Sun

A Poem by Kaela Craven

Tilt the glass in the light

The streams and flecks of solar offerings

I find so much to die for

In things that are meant for living

Maybe I can live on dying

A beacon for the cause of soldiering on

Despite the error of my birth

Carrying the night on my back

I will march with stony feet

And iceberg eyes

Perhaps the battle will one day be won

So I will keep my weary legs,

My slaving bones

And compete for unlikely hero -

To be a soldier for the sun

I felt the power behind your words, settle yet spoken fully and even an idiot could see what you are saying here. The soldiers, who walk on, not knowing but walking with frozen eyes, "Carrying the night on my back

I will march with stony feet

And iceberg eyes" I thought this was the strongest point you made. Very nice and well written. =) ks
