DiamondA Poem by Kaela CravenMy mother was diagnosed with cancer on 9/17/08
I have been boiled down To the rawest form of myself And it is not just a little grain of sand. I am a hero and a villain. I find myself as death and life. I see myself in clarity. I thought I would be death personified But here I have a will to live. I thought I was a diamond Collapsed into itself. I am a diamond that forces itself Into coal. I am a lump of coal Twisting into a diamond. The ancients say the beginning of the world Was chaos. Ugly, beautiful, Unsure Rigidly decided. Perhaps from the pain There will spring A new universe. © 2008 Kaela CravenReviews
