Separated Surgeons

Separated Surgeons

A Poem by Kaela Craven
"

One of my favorites, written when I was 17

"

To find a friend like me, you said.

Oh, I thought, to find a friend like you.

I could have known the answer

And found a little faith.

But you were battered -

I was wounded.

We could have stanched each other's blood.

But we were far in space and time

And so our wounds were floods.

"Incantations, spells, rituals, what are they? They're poems. So what's a poet? He's a Shaman." "She died laughing. She died in ecstasy. She died with her eyes wide open." Well, if I had to do .. more..
