Crocheted Suede

Crocheted Suede

A Poem by Kaela Craven

The couches were brand new suede
Forest green
Overstuffed.

She had put crocheted blankets on the backs
To keep them warm
I suppose.

The cat was too fat.
The T.V. was too big.
The doily was too doily

And I thought,
This is America.

I can't figure out why ladies in their fifties always buy really nice beautiful couches and put old-ass ugly as hell crocheted blankets on the backs. Just fyi.
