Stone Upon Stone

Stone Upon Stone

A Poem by Kaela Craven

Stone upon stone up the wall
Away from the moan
of the graveyard underneath the sky
I feel love like the green
I live life like the sea
All of this rolling by and I feel
Like a wave grabbing the shore

I keep getting carried off into instability
To reach ground I think it will take eternity
Grass upon grass up the hills
Away from my past
That is foggy for this twenty-four hours I'm not alone
But I know as soon as I'm home
The green will be gone and I feel love like the green
I live life like the sea
All of this rolling by and I feel
Like a wave grabbing the shore

Peace upon peace in your squeeze
Away from the beast of lonely nights
At an inn in the valley
Where the sheets aren't meant to be off-white
I climb up the mountain of a lie called hope
'Cause I know as soon as I'm home
The green will be gone and I feel love like the green
I live life like the sea
All of this rolling by and I feel
Like a wave grabbing the shore

Road upon road up the country
Away from the airplanes, a difficult transition
'Cause I know as soon as I'm home
The green will be gone and I feel love like the green
I live life like the sea
All of this rolling by and I feel
Like a wave grabbing the shore
