Black Rose

A black rose

a shattered heart

a couple torn apart

an endless plague of tears

a way we show our fears

a want and a need

a longing to be

a scar of the pain

a memory of blood going down the drain

a past slowly fades

a black rose thats left for decades

I like the imagery of the black rose. I also was impressed to see that you portrayed such a symbol in a variety of ways. As a reader I will tell you that certain lines broke the flow you had going. But not so much to take away from the overall effect. Good job and thanx for writing.

I liked this poem! I enjoyed reading it a lot.

The poem seems very depressing yet, for me, it was very uplifting as well. It made me think of times past and what has happened before. And I'm glad that now my life is better than it was then.

I like how there was a sort of rhythm to it. And though it was short, it got the point across nicely. Short sweet and to the point, those poems are the best.

The only suggestion I have is to put 'a shattered heart' on it's own line. I think it'd look better that way, but that's just me.

Nicely written I know you pain, just in a different way, the pain hurts emencially, yet we always find away to make it through this pain. Great write, I enjoyed reading this.
