Deadbeat Dad

Deadbeat Dad

A Poem by Kacie Simpson

You weren't there then
why should you be here now?
You're my "father" I should love you
but please, tell me "how"?
You don't know me
and I don't know you;
I don't need you in my life,
take a hint, get a clue.
You've complicated my life,
you're nothing but a headache,
and the attempts that you made
were nothing but pathetic.
False hopes and false promises,
that's all that you gave me;
Two years was enough,
and now I'm the one escaping.
You ran away first
and now it's my turn;
I guess i learned from the best
and I hope it's the last thing i learn.
So this is the end
and I ain't even mad,
you're the one losing out;
you're just a deadbeat dad.
