The Thought Through Time Without You

The Thought Through Time Without You

A Poem by Kaanu Rennie

The memories of the night tend to be the hardest to forget

Tattooed permanently in my mind

Seemingly Impossible to overcome

As I try to distract myself from the thought of your perfection,

my mind is overtaken by a force that tells me,

look at your reflection

I look into a mirror with tears in my eyes

In Hawaii we have a term,

A'ole ha'alelea

Don’t give up...

The world tells me to just shut up

And to have my chin up

But I can't ever imagine a world without you

My insides will feel empty and blue....

If I actually look back upon my present time,

I notice that you are out of my view...

my words are getting harder and harder to rhyme,

because every second away from you,

is my step closer...

closer...

to death
