First Date, part one

First Date, part one

A Poem by Katie Ann
"

I just feel like rhyming today. Kind of lame. lol... I should capitalize and punctuate, but I am too lazy.

"
Carefully chosen shoes
do I wear the black or go with the blues?
what shall I do with my hair?
holy f**k, what the hell should I wear?

Nervous hands turn the key
the ignition replies and
the engine sets itself free
my foot is on the gas
will this knot in my stomach pass?

Will this be a waste of time?
Will my heart just fall in line?
Will it be amazing?
Will he think I am breathtaking?

Five miles away and a half an hour early
should i have made my hair curly?
Will he really even care about
how i look or what i wear?
I do not think...

Will this be like an interview?
Will he find that I am his "someone new"?
I should ask if he had to drive far'
Why is he going on about the condition of his car?

beautiful smile, gorgeous eyes
why is it that i dont fall for these kind of guys?
time for a change? I do think so
Ive dated far too many d*********s in a row.

you can see the calm in my freckled face
i've never been in this chinese place
I chew and swallow, dont eat too fast
inhale, relax. my nervousness has passed.

intelligent boy, you make me smile.
oh, I hope you stay awhile
this was totally worth the 22 miles
