Being the Obstacle

Being the Obstacle

A Poem by Katherine Enma Pineapple
"

an impulsive write

"
To be the only one present in their sight
Advantageous yet it takes all my might
To say to them that they should look at my sides

Being the only one visible is painful for me
Knowing that I shadowed those I treasure closely
Their talents hidden because of me

Take a good look at the others whom resides at my sides
Please place them equally in your sights
Give them something they deserve- a spotlight!

Because

"They're more amazing than I."

Author's Note

Katherine Enma Pineapple
Originally a silent message for my teacher, because damn it. When you ask someone to draw don't look at me immediately! MY FRIENDS CAN DRAW. I hate favoritism. When you advertise someone who can write poetry, excuse me, but we're a literary arts class for a REASON.

I don't want to be the teacher's favorite I DO NOT! ALMOST EVERYONE SUGGESTS I AM!

LOOK AT OTHER PEOPLE

STOP DISCRIMINATING

BECAUSE THE PEOPLE BEING DISCRIMINATED

ARE PRETTY DAMN AMAZING

SO PLEASE JUST PLEASE

Notice my friends too

Truly it is, that's why I hate it when they treat my friends as invisible people
Aspects of institutions

Although individual, formal organizations, commonly identified as "institutions," may be deliberately and intentionally created by people, the development and functioning of institutions in society in general may be regarded as an instance of emergence; that is, institutions arise, develop and function in a pattern of social self-organization, which goes beyond the conscious intentions of the individual humans involved.
As mechanisms of social interaction, institutions are manifest in both formal organizations, such as the U.S. Congress, or the Roman Catholic Church, and, also, in informal social order and organization, reflecting human psychology, culture, habits and customs, and encompassing subjective experience of meaningful enactments. Most important institutions, considered abstractly, have both objective and subjective aspects: examples include money and marriage. The institution of money encompasses many formal organizations, including banks and government treasury departments and stock exchanges, which may be termed, "institutions," as well as subjective experiences, which guide people in their pursuit of personal well-being. Powerful institutions are able to imbue a paper currency with certain value, and to induce millions into cooperative production and trade in pursuit of economic ends abstractly denominated in that currency's units.[citation needed] The subjective experience of money is so pervasive and persuasive that economists talk of the "money illusion" and try to disabuse their students of it, in preparation for learning economic analysis.[citation needed]

A commendable person.... you are a true friend and a nice student.
Somehow, being an apple-of-the-eye of a teacher is not worth it. You feel pity for people being ignored while you are acknowledged...or insecurity might arise.
Nice piece!

a teacher's favorite ~ well we all go through that somehow... but i for one was never was... maybe because I'm a very awkward person...and no one seems to notice the slowpoke person... :) but i learned to be strong because of that...as i learned what lies within me... you know kabayan we can't control every bit of favoritism that comes along... the person that is left behind must strive for his/her side to earn something diba.... but you can do something... suggest that person to be credited... be the inspiring person who will inspire them to stand up for their own worth... so go for it...

a great well expressed poem!

i know but some people need a little push... i know you can convince them...and your welcome..
Lolz, this is funny because I can relate sometimes we just worked half-assed which makes them push the load to you(: So, sorry about that, hahahahah(the flower example)
I shouldn't be laughing but since this is a silent laughter I still had to laugh and let it out (:
And I know that some *name insert here* can also relate here (:
Profound write, indeed
