4. The Princess Arrives

4. The Princess Arrives

A Chapter by Katherine Enma Pineapple

Princess Catherine wasn’t at all comfortable with the fact that she was being dragged around the palace. She didn’t know why but it seems like the maid, Lenalee, was trying to distract her or something. Maybe she shouldn’t have arrived alone, without her servants. But she was pretty sure that they were lurking around the palace.

“I’d like to really rest my feet,” Catherine remarks.

“Nonsense! You rode a car here!” Lenalee yelled nervously as Catherine sighs.

“Who’s the princess here?” she started.

“You, obviously,”

“Who’s the servant?”

“Me?”

“Now that we have established that I would like to go to my assigned room and rest,”

“But--!”

“Where’s the room?”

Lenalee sighed in defeat. She led the Princess to the room. Smiling in triumph, Catherine followed. With the awkward silence, they continued until they reached the middle of the castle where Kapre lied interested at the new visitor. He grinned and proceeded to climb down his tree.

“Now, now what do we have here?” Kapre revealed his yellowish teeth yet again as Catherine jumped, shocked at the giant. Lenalee’s face had paled. Only the prince had the guts to interact with the creatures in this area.

“I’m Princess Catherine Macasaya,” Catherine gulped as she watched the giant fix himself and yet again take another hit on his cigarette.

“What brings you here?”

“I’m going to formally meet Prince Roy.”

“For what?”

“He’s going to be my fiancé.”

“Fiance?” Kapre laughed, his loud laughter echoing through the halls of the castle. “Yer going to have a surprise of yer life.”

“Surprise?” Catherine raised a brow and turned to Lenalee.

“Lenalee!” a yell from the distance echoed.

“Ah the Prince awaits!” Lenalee remarked, uncomfortable with the fact the giant was with them.

“Wait! What surprise?” Catherine eyed Kapre.

“You’ll see soon,” Kapre smiled.

Catherine stepped back, wanting to ask more but something in her mind told her to just let it be. He might be lying, she thought.  She turned to Lenalee, examining the small brunette.

“Fine…” she paused and felt a smile tugging on her lips, “…I wouldn’t want to waste the fun.”

“Okay,” Lenalee trailed off. “This way…”

Catherine stared back at Kapre again and continued following Lenalee. She was wondering what that surprise was all about and honestly she couldn’t help but let her thoughts linger for a while. She was stuck in a trance.

Lianne sighed as she tried shoving the horseman out of her room. She was twisting his arm in the most painful manner she thought was possible, almost making it go all 360 degrees.

“You will NOT scare the Princess!”

“You can’t"AH!! HAHAHA!”

“Why are you laughing?!” Lianne glared as she twisted his arm.

“The-the Princess is over there!” Lianne lets go of him and looked up to see Princess Catherine who coughed. Lenalee was mentally panicking for some reason maybe because Lianne’s violence might have had a bad impression on Princess Catherine.

“Th-this is the Prince!” Lenalee yelled nervously. Catherine got herself out of her trance and stared at Lianne. She eyed the tattoos that were revealed by Lianne’s short sleeves.

“What’s with the tattoos?” Catherine asked. Lianne raised a brow, is that really the first thing you want to say to me?

“Tattoos are symbols of the Prince’s deeds for society! Every tattoo you see here represents the Prince’s bravery!” Lenalee replied, sweating bullets.

“Then you must be a pretty brave man,” Catherine commented.

“I am,” Lianne replied simply as Lenalee’s skin color dropped. You must humbly accept it! She thought.

Lianne eyed Catherine. She had short light brown hair, a growing trend in her area. Catherine’s emerald irises were obviously the work of contacts yet it is so easily complimented by her green sweater and tight black skirt.

“It is a pleasure to meet you,” Catherine smiled and offered her hand.

“The pleasure is mine,”
