Zero and Counting

Zero and Counting

A Poem by Onoma

Pain is up for itself...all doors a-glue--
as if walls tried to cut their heart out.
There's an entering and exiting
that bears the ineptitude of emotion.
Words can sit in the mouth forever...
as forever reruns its series of emotion.
Dumb to follow, dumb to sit with the
ache that met ache...eyes set...they
go all the way down.
Lids censor them--a spastic all-seeing
boils the eggs beneath.
The dreamer's dream opens wide
nightmarish--who in a dehumanized
what could hold such explication?
Zero and counting...zero and counting...
locks eyes with a continual passing.
As if the love of one's life, was the love
of one's life assaying.
Rid of capture to define indeterminate
distance...as if the body were a giant
parched tongue... severed--snaking its
way all along crosshatched emotion.
How many times could one feel their
way out of body--just to experience
seperation?
...Which is none other.
