An Unhealthy Sphincter

An Unhealthy Sphincter

A Poem by Onoma

put down your
ballpoint pen, please
let it hit on a
taught-leather notebook.
poetry breaks open your
lunch boX.
packed with a serpent's
lockjaw hiss, whose tongue
is bitten off by a spider monkey.
behind, shifts--because integrity
capsizes for divisible back.
