The Mirror Deceives.

The Mirror Deceives.

A Poem by bediako
"

thinking aloud......how some "FRIENDS" make us look

"
I escape the nightmare to meet morning
only for my mirror to depict me smiling
The extra skin on my forehead stands
but my dimple in the mirror grows deep
A pale blue oil stained shirt
brights like stars looking in my mirror`

I stand sweating from a day's work
funnily,my mirror shows a relieved me.
The dinner wouldn't satisfy
enough!shouts my mirror,"its enough" it whispers
A shabbily dressed bed to rest
yet good to touch in my mirror

Then I wonder who my mirror is?
names just flood my thoughts
some i know others i only hear

"Jim,your neighbor
"kate, the lady you see en route to work"
"Mart,your favorite hang out buddy.

So i see who my mirror is
A few friends
Who say as they perceive
for me to be deceived...

I like it. Mirrors are certainly mysterious at times. Is it truly you you see, what others see, or how you see yourself. Great poem
