Living in TomorrowA Poem by JWidenerYou might say; “I ‘love’ this, it’s my savior”. But the world says otherwise. You might believe that you are saved. But what if the facade you give yourself is a facade of weakness, instead of one of strength? What if the things you find truth are just paranoid lies? What if the very thing you make your savior; Is the very thing putting you in bondage? Now see, that is no longer your savior. That is your condemner. That is your downfall. That is your eternal damnation. Because the very thing that leads you is full of great hatred.
So how’s your savior? I mean come on, let’s be honest. Are you truly happy? Are you truly saved? You’ve given yourself up to this ‘savior’ Only to be dragged down to the ground; Beaten, bruised, denied, and refused happiness. Yet you still hold this high in your altar And you worship it with unwavering dedication Because you are fearful of what life would be like without it. When you trust in yourself When you trust in your worth You can fully enjoy; understand; and share the fame of life’s joy
You can take off the mask of weakness And let your true face show Because the people who should care Are the people who already know what you are So embrace in yourself and trust in your soul And while your heart may be broken While your will may be down There’s always that one person That will turn your frown around. Who will give you many reasons to enjoy your life Instead of wallow in your sorrow Don’t grieve on the past, but live for today Your true savior is living in tomorrow © 2014 JWidener |
